The wood scale doesn’t feel treated or coated in any way. The Riffle continues the recent Civivi trend of showcasing their interior team’s design chops in the mid-size EDC realm. This makes it tough for lazy knife bloggers to categorize and then criticize it. It looks like another new Civivi knife is on the way: meet the Riffle. This is my first wood scale, as well as first Damascus blade. The Civivi Relic refuses to be defined by an intended use. Overall this is an excellent offering from an outstanding company. The ergonomics is excellent with enough room for a comfortable four finger grip. The gimping on top of the blade is excellent not sharp at all but, grippy enough to keep your hand in place. The cut out in the blade lends itself to an easy thumb and reverse flick deployment. Like all Civivi' s the detent is tuned perfectly. The blade is a dark Damascus with enough heft to be fall shuty. Thumb flick is possible, but it' s much more of a roll. Action is good, easy to spydie flick or use the flipper. Manufactured by CIVIVI Knife, the in-house brand of. Wood has a good feel and it' s light. Riffle Twill Carbon Fiber / Black G10, an EDC knife with a drop point head made of stainless damascus. The black damascus and wood are pretty dark, it doesn' t scream 'look at me!' but it' s just enough to make you move the knife around I' m the light to catch the detail, and that' s when it really starts to stand out.
